Happy Passover week! Why do we celebrate Passover? The Bible gives us lots of holy days to celebrate. Yahuah created us to celebrate. Celebrations are reminders. If you think about any holiday, it was created to remember a great victory. And the same goes for Passover. It’s a reminder of the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt. It isn’t just for Jews. The Bible continually says over and over to let the foreigners staying with them celebrate. It isn’t just for Old Testament law either. In fact Jesus celebrated it the night before he died. They continued to celebrate his holy days after he died and it’s even talked about in revelation where his people were celebrating his feasts when he returned. So how do we celebrate it? I suggest keeping it simple. When I over complicate it, I get overwhelmed. There’s lots of Jewish traditions that have been added over the years but we stick to biblical instruction only. 1. We hang a red scarf over our door as a reminder of the death angel passing over. 2. We simply do a big feast in our home and then with our community. In our feast we bring unleavened foods, we talk about the Passover story and Jesus sacrifice, we take communion and even sometimes do feet washing. 3. We spend the week self analyzing and asking Yahuah to reveal hidden sin as we get the leaven out of our hearts. If you noticed Easter isn’t in the Bible. It wasn’t created by Yahuah and the whole world celebrates it. (The history of it is disturbing and the dates actually don’t usually line up.) We celebrate his resurrection through Passover but yahusha said to celebrate it as often as we can through communion. Do you celebrate Passover? #family #passover #faith #blessed #celebrate Side note…dad isn’t in the photo because he’s at work this morning. Our Passover meal was last night and I just didn’t grab a photo. And I’m not here to debate Easter. I’m sharing what Yahuah has revealed and encouraging those that want to seek his word that we have great blessings in living by his word.
