Unilaterally training the upper back is weird, feels weird to retract like that

Question. I currently do a push/pull split (quads on push, hamstrings on pull) would it be worth moving to a U/L or would the benefit be minimal?

To what degree, then, should I be training unilaterally? Would it be optimal for more isolated movements (like the curls you’re showing) or even for higher load compound movements (SBD)?

if unilateral movements recruit more MUs why do they feel harder?

At what point do you begin to see diminishing returns on unilateral movements? I assume there is a point that it would hurt more than help due to the increased CNS fatigue from unilateral exercises

Is this just to make bilateral movements more effective, or does switching movements have any other benefits in this case? If not, I can continue doing unilateral movements as usual right?

So if we could recover from every set being unilateral that would be best for muscle growth?

So would it be smarter to program say as an example a unilateral preacher curl for a certain amount of weeks, and then program for a bilateral movement for say half the amount of weeks and so on?

William :
It’s a plausible hypothesis but if I was betting, I bet the gains would be almost identical for straight programming of either bilateral or unilateral vs alternating.

Hello i wanted to ask, my fault if you already did a video about it, but why the 4 to 30 rep range is effective for hypertrophy and not 2 reps or 50 reps ?
