you could honestly just run bog standard 5e and just multiply/divide the numbers based on size/scale. i.e. humans deal 1x damage, mechs deal 10x damage. you only do math when there's a scale differenc

I've been wanting to run something in MechWarrior, but the system is very different from 5e, which is what my friends know. BattleTech + 5e sounds like a great middle ground.

It's not the 3.5E complexity: it's the amount of source books you needed and the almost demand of minmaxing and the +35s. 5e was an unbelievable breath of fresh air after that
