My only thought here is if the offense can do it they should slow special teams and defense to do it as well. Assuming injuries don’t matter.

my argument against it is, if it's illegal for the defense to push/shove players across/through the line why is it legal for the offense to be able to do it?

It’s already illegal on the other side of the ball for player safety. It is kind of absurd we’re even talking about this, it shouldn’t have happened more than a single time before it was stopped.

I don’t think they should necessarily ban pushing the ball carrier but if they don’t they need to make it so the defense can push their teammate too. That’d make it fair

Its pushing through the center that shouldnt be allowed. On soecial teams. They BANNED pushing through the center to block punts. So why is this allowed. Same concept. Literally.
