well i belive it does matter where you put your nvme, since the very top one is PCIe 5 and the others are PCIe 4.

the reason for using the top slot mainly, is usually cus the top slot is the fastest with gen 5 speeds, (depending on ur mobo) and the other slots are gen 4 or gen 3 which are slower

it matters, usually the secondary slot share bandwidth with the secondary sata port while the primary slot usually disables one sata port and doesn't share bandwidth.

It matters where you put the SSD because sometimes they share a lane with the PCEI slot. If that’s the case then the SSD will disable the PCEI and vice versa. Depends on MOBO

Check the manual if you’re not sure. You might lose some lanes for the graphics card if you use the top m.2 slot. Won’t really hurt performance overall but it’s good to know.

It does matter in terms of speed from storage to CPU and also matters on GPU bandwidth via the PCIe lanes depending on MB and CPU. Doesn’t usually cause much perf loss, tho

it's a problem if u I stalled M2 SSD in the wrong slot due to speeds on the slots may vary, so always go for the first slot / top slot first so it won't be any problems down the line

you use the top one because its closer to your cpu so basically if your OS is on there then your pc boots faster. (honestly doesnt matter at all tbh like it really doesnt make a huge difference)
