Add lemon zest, lemon juice and mix. Add sugar and mix then add melted butter, vanilla and almond essence, baking powder and mix. Add self raising flour and mix together. Add flour to bench top and put pastry on top then roll into a log. Cut a medium sized piece off and roll into a long rope. Then cut in the middle and place on top of each other and twist. Cut in the middle then make each twisted rope piece into a small circle by joining the start and end together. Bake at 180C for 25-30mins. Once cool, dip in lemon glaze before serving. Glaze: Mix 1/2 cup icing sugar with the juice of half a lemon.
