Why would you impact the new rod back into the tank. It’s not going anywhere ? And don’t you have to open a faucet to get the water to flow better

I just had my water heater replaced so I'm taking notes. altho the previous one lasted 24.5 years with most likely no maintenance. so I'm not too too worried since we have really clean water where I leave

So if my water heater cost 3-400 dollars new. And I do Zero maintenance im out 600 for 12 years. If i do maintenance every 3 years. 6x60=360. Ill be fine with just buying a new one when it breaks.

Does every gas water heater have an anode rod? I’ve looked on top of mine and done see the cap. There is like two or three circular labels the same size but haven’t taken them off.

bad egg smell is black iron pipes which is for gas not water
