Scammers will often reach out with compliments and high-price offers for your artwork, claiming they want to ‘mint it as an NFT.’ But here’s the truth: their goal isn’t to support artists — it’s to steal your money or digital assets. They’ll send you to a fake NFT marketplace, ask you to connect a crypto wallet, or trick you into paying “gas fees” up front. Some even use fake identities, logos, and official-looking websites to make it all seem legit. As an artist who shares my work online, I want to protect other creatives from falling into this trap.
