@utah.hiker: This is the Peekaboo and Spooky Slot Canyons located in Grand Staircase-Escalante along the famous Hole in the Rock Road. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: 🛻The Hole in the Rock Road is notoriously rough with a lot of wash boards and rapidly changing conditions. Check with the local BLM office for current conditions. ☔️Never hike a slot canyon if there is a chance of rain due to flash flood risks. 🗺️There are two trailhead options, 1) The Upper Fork and 2) The Lower Fork. You can take a few routes with the shortest being about 3 miles and the longest being 6 miles. 🔄 Travel the slots clockwise starting by entering Peekaboo and exiting out Spooky. 🧗‍♀️To enter Peekaboo there is a bit of a scramble up to enter. There are some Moqui steps and this climb can often be done unassisted. If you are with a group you can assist each other and potentially use a hand line. If you’re of shorter stature might not want to do this one alone. 🥾Peekaboo slot is about .3 miles and Spooky slot is about .6 miles in length. 🚨The narrowest portion is only 10 inches wide. At the trailhead there are two posts where you can check to ensure you can navigate through the slot canyon. 👉And of course, practice leave no trace principles while visiting these amazing places.
