@bradbernsteinlaw: Replying to @centerofthesun Is It Taxation Without Representation If You Live Abroad? đŗī¸đ° Brad Bernstein responds to a comment: âIâm a U.S. citizen living abroadâbeing taxed is taxation without representation!â Not true. đ If youâre a U.S. citizen, even living abroadâyou CAN vote. â You can vote in federal elections, usually using your last U.S. residence address. â So youâre being taxed, yesâbut youâre also represented. đ Thatâs not taxation without representation. Thatâs taxation with representation. Donât like being taxed while living overseas? Then vote for someone who supports expat tax reform. Bottom Line: You may be living abroad, but your voice still counts. Use it. #USCitizensAbroad #TaxationWithRepresentation #KnowYourRights #BradBernstein #VoteFromAbroad #Expats #USCitizenship #ImmigrationLaw
Great explanation, Brad! Many expats donât realize they still have voting rights while living abroad. Itâs important to stay informed and exercise that right to push for tax reform if desired. Thanks for clarifying this common misconception. USCitizensAbroad TaxationWithRepresentation VoteFromAbroad

Yeah thatâs a poor example, most countries with residency based taxation, allow their citizens to vote while living abroad.

Some states make it harder to vote by mail. US embassies also accept ballots for the elections free. Still need a US stamp though. They mail them in the US free of charge.
