@giftedequine: Replying to @devgem34 The Gifted Equine is a 501c3 nonprofit equine rescue. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating equine in need. We show the day to day on our ‘gram of each and every horse we have in our care. We provide frequent updates to keep everyone in the loop. This platform we use primarily to spread awareness about what is happening to equine and try our best to raise the very necessary funding needed to keep doing what we do. We have a goal to raise 50,000 dollars in preparation for us going on our next rescue mission. We have 27 days to do the impossible. This funding will help rescue horses from the circuit the first weekend in May. The funding is life changing for the ones we can help. It ALSO helps us build out several more pastures so we can take in more. We are always limited by TWO things: Funding and Space. We are trying to generate more of each so we can responsibly save more lives. If it’s in your budget to donate, it’s so appreciated. It helps us be able to pull equines out of this cycle of neglect and provide rehabilitation and continue to expand our space a little at a time. WHY? ⬇️ Horses, donkeys and mules (and even zebras sometimes) get sold into the auction circuit when they are no longer wanted. These can be ex-racehorses, ex-rodeo horses, brood mares, carriage horses, commercial trail ride horses, pasture pets, ex-Amish work horses or buggy horses, etc. Traders flip these horses for profit (like used cars) and sometimes will sell by the pound to sl*ughterhouses across the borders. Donkeys’ skin is sought after to make a traditional Chinese tea called ejiao, byproducts put in things like dog food or treats. Many European countries consume horse meat as well as Japan and Korea. It’s a dark and seedy, sad industry with no accountability, a lot of abuse, neglect and inhumane practices.
