here's my opinion solo-leveling is an extremely good anime and it doesn't lack story in the slightest cause s1 and s2 are build ups and about 30% of the episodes are fillers of him jus "aura farming" for no apparent reason (the manhwa or the novel have the rest of the good parts of the story and trust me when I say the story for this anime will get even better starting from next season) Friern in the other hand is also super entertaining but it doesn't have that much filler episodes and it also has great story from start to finish and I Friren fans say "sung junwoo gets glazed so hard" while Friern gets glazed as hard so it's all perspective I'd recommend both but tbh solo-leveling hits a bit harder cause I read the manhwa and watched the anime

Frieren is one of the best anime of all time (I mean it), and while SL is an ok anime it is like he said, turn your brain off and enjoy the flashy fights, it has nearly no character development, 99% of side characters exist for the sole purpose of dying/loosing so Jin Woo can one shot the villain and look cool by comparison; Frieren shows a random old guy in a village and gives him the most badass and deep lore, the show respects you as a viewer and takes its time to cook a beautiful story with no rush
