I can’t believe the original crispy rice omelette video got over 4.5 million views across my socials! 🤯 What’s crazy about that recipe is that it’s the most basic version with just egg, furikake, and scallions, and since you guys were into it, I decided to LEVEL IT UP with way more flavor this time. This version is made by mixing gochujang and sesame oil into the rice, then pouring the egg on top with cubes of @Bachan’s marinated @SPAM®️ Brand, furikake, and scallions. You get some caramelization from the gochujang making the rice extra crispy 😋 Would you try it? Let me know in the comments what you think if you do! 🙌 INGREDIENTS 3 slices Spam (cubed) 3 tbsp Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce 2 tbsp sesame oil 1-2 tbsp gochujang 1 instant rice cup (7.1 oz) 3 eggs (beaten) furikake (to taste) 4 stalks scallions INSTRUCTIONS 1️⃣ If you’re using day old rice, skip step 1. If you’re using an instant rice cup, heat it in the microwave, then spread it out in a thin layer over parchment paper and set aside for 1 hour to dry out. 2️⃣ Chop the scallions. Chop 3 slices of spam into small cubes. In a pan over medium heat, fry the spam for a few minutes, tossing them around occasionally to evenly cook. Add Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce and continue to cook and stir for another minute. Set aside. 3️⃣ In another pan over medium heat, add the sesame oil and gochujang and mix it with the rice. Use a silicone spatula to spread a thin, even layer of rice over the bottom of the pan. 4️⃣ Crack the eggs into a small bowl and whisk together well. Then, pour it over the top of the rice. 5️⃣ Sprinkle the furikake, Spam, and scallions evenly across the eggs. 6️⃣ Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 3-5 minutes or until the eggs are cooked through. 7️⃣ Slide your spatula along the edges to make sure the rice is not sticking to the pan, then slide it onto a plate. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut into triangular pieces. 8️⃣ Enjoy! #spam #crispyrice #brunch #breakfast #omelette
