my characters both had two parents in the start of the plot but both of their moms die 💔💔 (both of them die for genuine plot reasons. Even before the death, their parents effected them both in a lot of ways and inflicted their thinking. But the death of the first caused literally EVERYTHING else to happen. The second made my oc delirious enough to kill two people to protect my other oc because he couldn't bare losing the last person he cared about. as you could guess, that impacted their relationship a lot and lead to another event to happen.) I try to write complex parent-child relationships because I have a complex relationship with my own parents.
