![Four Years Ago…Just after my son’s diagnosis, I held onto one small hope: that he would respond to his name. And he did — at 29 months old. I’ll never forget that moment. Three Years Ago… I hoped he would find a way to express himself. And he did — through American Sign Language (ASL). His hands spoke volumes when words couldn’t. Two Years Ago… I hoped he’d start imitating and following simple instructions. And he did — and kept surprising us with how much more he could do. One Year Ago… I hoped he would begin to use his voice. That part is still a work in progress. But today, as a nonspeaking child with communication & language challenges, he’s learning not one, not two, but three languages. ⏳Looking back, his journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. What once felt like my biggest, most desperate hope — just hearing him respond to his name — isn’t even a passing worry anymore. 🙏🏻To any parent still in that early place of hoping: I see you. I was you. 🥹 Hold on to that hope because every small win will build into something incredible. 💕One day, you’ll look back and see that the things you once prayed for are now part of your everyday life.
