FSTs are nothing but evidence gathering tactics police will use in court. Most sober people will not perfectly complete them and time and time again police have failed them during trial.

Why didn’t you refuse the field sobriety but agree to the chemical test? That’s what all my criminal attorney friends recommend. I’d hate to get charged for a false positive on a field test.

Curious why when they asked “have you been drinking?” You would refuse to answer rather than just saying “no” if you know you haven’t. Does it matter? My guess would be insist on a breathalyzer

For the love of god, just say “no” to the question if you’ve been drinking. If you say “I’m not answering that question”, that raises a red flag.

You admitted you ran the red light and stopped past the line, the stop was valid. Was it a pretext? Maybe, but those are legal. Be annoyed, but getting drunks off the road is a good thing.
