they did the same thing on body cam with a rookie cop. "he smells like alcohol but doesn't have red eyes or isn't slurring and i think it's his cologne" "idc it will be good practice pull him out"

FSTs are nothing but evidence gathering tactics police will use in court. Most sober people will not perfectly complete them and time and time again police have failed them during trial.

do you think your vocabulary is what helped you? Because a lot of people use the lawyer card, but your speech was proper and word play was on par

Good for you John. The old days of police work are long gone when people did the right thing.

its all ironic and hilarious :
I'm surprised you agreed to FST considering how subjective they are. Why not just do the breath test?

Why didn’t you refuse the field sobriety but agree to the chemical test? That’s what all my criminal attorney friends recommend. I’d hate to get charged for a false positive on a field test.

Can you not just refuse a FST and demand a breathalyzer?

If they ask if you’ve been drinking, you should say “I’m not answering that question?”

Curious why when they asked “have you been drinking?” You would refuse to answer rather than just saying “no” if you know you haven’t. Does it matter? My guess would be insist on a breathalyzer

I thought all lawyers advise not to participate in voluntary feild sobriety tests.

That’s interesting. I didn’t think if they ask you if you drink, you can tell them that you’re not gonna answer that question.

Jzee :
For the love of god, just say “no” to the question if you’ve been drinking. If you say “I’m not answering that question”, that raises a red flag.

And…you are wrong…I’ve been involved in fatal DUIs. They were just doing their job…we need to keep drunk drivers off the road.

you don't need to say you are recording.
Get a dash cam.
I would not have gone around that stop.👌

You admitted you ran the red light and stopped past the line, the stop was valid. Was it a pretext? Maybe, but those are legal. Be annoyed, but getting drunks off the road is a good thing.
