Your eyes are beautiful, MashaAllah. I know you don’t believe in Allah, but if your mum believes in Allah, and you don’t, doesn’t that worry you sis especially for the hereafter? I respect your choice

So my partner is white and I’m Bengali. I feel the biggest reason maybe your parents didn’t work was the interfaith (and also maybe your mom wasn’t raised in the UK). Both my partner and I were (1/2)

being mixed race is the 1st invisible burden children carry. We struggle so much in areas that are not understood by other people.

Don’t get the hate on the video. I think it’s an honest and fair video. My children are half Turkish and they speak the language. As for the religion that’s up to them! 🙏

Love this! 🙌🏼 as a mixed race person - most people who aren’t mixed cannot relate to our experience. You just have to embrace who you are 🫶🏼

I’m not mixed race but I’m mixed ethnicity and I feel the same on a lot of what you’ve said. I don’t feel like I fully fit in on either side (Scotland and The Cayman Islands for those wondering)

It’s tough growing up in the UK even fully bengali. Cultures can be confusing, especially mixed with religion. Even though you’re not Muslim I truly hope that you’ve experienced the beauty of it. ♥️

In London, did you ever go to areas in places that have a high Bengali diaspora, eg Tower Hamlets borough? Altab Ali Park, Brick Lane, etc are iconic

I’m 100% Somali but growing up I would get called whitewashed by others in my community and went to a predominantly white school/ uni. I think over time I just became comfortable with who I was❤️
