@justinveenema: My first maternity stranger photoshoot! 🌸 I was in Burnaby looking for cherry blossoms when I spotted these two dressed so gracefully, taking photos together with their cousin Gursimran. I didn’t want to interrupt — just curious what they were up to — but when I stepped closer and saw how stunning they looked, I had to offer them a few portraits. Sapanpreet is six months pregnant with their first child. They don’t know the gender yet — but Sapanpreet has a feeling it’s a boy. Sagar thinks it’s a girl. Either way, you can feel how deeply excited they are to meet their little one. It was such a special moment to witness — and I’m so grateful they said yes. ===== 📍 Brentwood, Burnaby BC ===== ⚙️ TECHNICAL NOTES: For this shoot, I used a vintage Helios 44-2 lens — a Soviet-era 58mm f/2 lens known for its dreamy, swirly bokeh. It’s fully manual, meaning I have to focus by hand — which makes every shot a little slower, but also more intentional. The lens has a unique rendering that feels almost painterly — soft, imperfect, and romantic.
