One thing to consider is also the ratio of fructose and sucrose. Our bodies can only absorb x amount of each which is why we have to take a mix of sugars to maximise intake that we can turn into fuel

I've just recently started going more serious miles and omg I so need to try this, I can't ever go near the gels they make me so poorly. I will try this on my run later might need to get some pouches

Maple syrup is only ~67% carbohydrates (mainly sucrose) so don’t forget to account for this when dosing!
