My rule of thumb is if you are telling your friend what it looks like this you'd say "I'm wearing a white strapless dress with blue flowers" if white is in the name of the description is a no for me

For me it’s the fact that why would you want to wear white to any wedding event when you are not the bride? Like white is my favorite color to wear but not to someone’s wedding event!

My mom (MOB) wore a white dress with a blue pattern which I “the bride” picked out for her. If someone else had worn something similar I would’ve been annoyed. White should be off limits

Personally I stay away from any variation of white ( cream, off white and so on) if I am a guest attending wedding or any parties associated with a wedding. Same goes for baby showers especially if I know the gender. I stay away from blues and pinks.

Colorful florals are popular in wedding dresses now. Doesn’t have to be plain white to look like a wedding dress

my rule of thumb is if there is any white or beige at all or its a very light pastel then just pass on it, bc why stress out anyone when there are sooo many other beautiful dress colors to wear

I know there’s a lot of brides that will wear a blue dress to a wedding event or there’s something blue so personally I would also steer clear of blue but that’s just me might be a little extra

I think the white dress argument is more of a TT thing than a real life thing. I’ve been to a lot of weddings where someone will wear light yellow, light blue, white floral, etc and no one bats an eye
