@theveryextra0rdinary: Utahraptor is a genus of large dromaeosaurid (more commonly known as Raptors) dinosaur that lived during the Early Cretaceous period from around 135 to 130 million years ago in what is now the United States. It is the largest-known member of the family Dromaeosauridae, measuring about 6–7 metres (20–23 ft) long and typically weighing up to 500 kilograms. Whereas the Jurassic Park Velociraptors are actually much bigger than real life velociraptors, which are only about the weight of a turkey. Velociraptors are thought to only weigh around 7-15 kg and were around 2 metres in length (including their tails!) #prehistoric #extinctanimals #dinosaur #velociraptor #utahraptor #jurassicpark
