The main rotor being able to clip the tail seems like a major design flaw. Should never be able to come in contact.

Tim :
new video shows there were no aggressive inputs...it simply just fell apart.. I think pilots want it to be pilot error because the idea of your rotor just separating suddenly is nightmare fuel...

I’m thinking it’s massive transmission failure.

All four blades intact when they hit the water, it wasn’t mast bumping

Personally I believe the tail rotor hear box separated the helicopter causing a severe forward shift in cg and then the main rotor as the pilot aggressively pulled back contacted and separated t boom

What if it just run out of gas and flung out of control? That's exactly what happened

I think there was a bird strike on the tail rotor which shot debris into the main rotor and she spun in.

videos show the kid in the front seat, is it not at all possible he pulled the rotor break lever?

My theory is that the Hudson River helicopter made an aggressive maneuver, causing the main rotor blades to strike the tail and disintegrate the aircraft mid-air

i know you mentioned the weather wasn’t bad, but i live on a pier they flew over literally one minute before & had wind gusts that hour from the sw that made doors v difficult to open. (1/2)
