I feel like Katie’s mom would be a good person to ask. Her plants looked beautiful.

Cindy T. :
In my flower beds I did roses and camellias. Roses bloom in the summer and camellias bloom in the winter. On the full sun side I did roses and hibiscus. I live in SE AL on the AL-GA line if that helps

Isn’t Katie’s hubby a landscaper? He could tell you what will thrive there. Lowe’s has tags on plants that tell you too.

Take clippings from your roses, spring is the best time to propagate. Then maybe consider things like olive trees and grape vines. Flowering kale is pretty and also edible.

Edging out your beds would be a big difference! Stick with groupings. Buy flowers that keep mosquitoes away!

Look into native plants for your area and see if there are local nurseries that carry only natives! The plants need almost nothing because they’re used to your climate and they’re great for pollinators

Honestly, go with native species of perennials. They will come back every year and once established, really don't need watering and they will be cold hardy too

Plant some perennial bulb flowers so you don't have to buy flowers every year. You'll have to thin then every so often but that's the only maintenance

Dig out the plants. turn over the soil and dig in some manure. let it settle for a couple weeks. Buy Heather's & Lavenders. and plant different bulbs between them
