@papercuts_byricci: Why Your Crepe Flowers Aren’t Turning Out Right. 1. Using the wrong type of crepe paper Not all crepe paper is created equal—using low-quality or non-stretchy paper (like regular party streamers) can lead to stiff, unnatural petals. For realistic flowers, use high-quality heavyweight or doublette crepe paper which offers better stretch and texture. 2. Ignoring the grain direction Crepe paper has a visible grain or stretch direction. If you cut petals against the grain, they won’t shape well and can tear easily. Always cut petals so the grain runs horizontally, allowing you to gently stretch and curve them for a more lifelike look. 3. Over-gluing Too much glue can warp the paper, create visible blobs, or prevent natural movement. Use minimal glue, preferably with a fine-tip applicator or a glue stick, and apply it strategically—usually at the base of the petal or where layers attach. #crepepaperflowers #PaperFlowers #CrepePaperFlowers #Papercraft #DIYArtist #CraftTok

when I started learning how to make flowers using a crepe paper it was a disaster but when i found a high quality crepe paper it was so good and not as sensitive as low quality/old stacked crepe paper
