PD150’s record onto Mini-DV, not SD. You’ll need tapes and a way to adapt them to digital

check to be sure that battery compartment is CLEAN!! if you want an inland empire vibe, you may be better off getting a newer tape recorder and a digital converter/capture card to easily digitize!

Okay! So i have a Sony PD-170 Which is the (slightly) newer version of the PD-150. Firstly I would recommend finding a slightly higher capacity battery, as the cameras draw a pretty large amount 1/?

girl read the manual. should be easy to find online. Its definitely tape (hi-8 maybe) and def clean the battery port.

The memory stick is just for digital stills, not for recording video. If you have the power adapter plug it into the wall and see if it turns on

im super into digicams, and tbh sometimes the cameras will not turn on if the right SD card isn’t in most of the time but i don’t have experience with this specific camera

Look up “tapeless camcorder” on how people record without buying tapes. If u want to use tapes u need to buy a capture card with analog input.

it’s a minidv camcorder, the memory card is for stills. you need minidv tapes to record anything LOL

if those are original batteries, it’s unfortunately going to be rare that they are any good. You’ll most likely need to buy a compatible replacement battery

A lot of batteries for those older camcorders have degraded overtime. When I’ve used them, I had to have them plugged into power to get them on. You also need minidv tapes to record with those.
