@gurps_k01: Vaisakhi is the day when Khalsa was Created. Vaisakhi is also known as The Birth of Khalsa. In April 1699 the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji summoned sikhs from far and wide at Anandpur Sahib. In the test of faith Guru Sahib asked if there is any child of Sikh who will give his head. In time, 5 sikhs stood and offered themselves as a sacrifice. This was a test of faith, devotion, humility and sacrifice. These first five sikhs were known as the Pani Pyare (the five beloved) and were initiated into a new order, called the Khalsa. The Guru blessed them with ambrosial nectar and freed them from the cycle of birth and death. Since this day in 1699, millions of sikhs have been blessed with Amrit and thus initiated in to Khalsa, The Army of the Immaculate. Since then the Khalsa has stood up against any injustice and provided food to evervone without any discrimination on the basis of caste colour or creed.
