1. You didn't need fill the oil to the filter. 2. You didn't need lubricated the filter seal 3. You didn't need tools to tightened the filter, just hand power... 4. You have re-training

I never fill my filter, just lube the rubber seal and yep I too use the strap wrench….HAND TIGHT, not torqued to 500 ft pounds.

Yeah you’re messing up by tightening with the wrench. Just hand tight. It’s gonna get tighter when it heats up.
