They are not being held for an unpaid fare. They are being held for accused assault on the driver who had to visit a hospital for his injuries. They are trying to find out who was the aggresor

This is wild! Can't believe they're still being held without charges. The legal system there is so different and it's crazy how long this is taking.

Why is it crazy that Denmark does not want them to leave the country when they are investigating if they commited a crime? Sounds reasonable.

In Denmark we live in a democracy, that is, no corrupt politicians, police or military. So if they are guilty, they are convicted and if they are innocent, they are of course acquitted. 🇩🇰

He lied multiple times in the interview -
- It was a Taxi driver, not a random person in Uber (that's illegal in Denmark)
- The Taxi driver ended up in the hospital
- They haven't been to High Court

Other news articles say the uber driver stalked them down after and attacked them first. And threatened them.

Lol it’s Denmark. Not Russia, Iran, or America. People don’t get jailed there if they didn’t do something illegal.

Here’s why they’re being charged: According to the indictment from the constitutional hearing, which Ritzau has, they tried to leave the taxi without paying, which caused the driver to run after them.

The cab is by law fitted w several cameras. Accordingly, police has a good picture of what took place. If they are held more than 24 hours a judge will have to approve this based the evidence at hand

Why is this story creating so much media coverage with an accusation of assault of a taxi driver and hardly any press coverage of foreign people in the USA sent to detention centers for NO reason ? 😡

You won’t get arrested and accused of assault in Denmark, if there isn’t sufficient evidence to back it up.
