I just cut every boring word like the he went would etc and then come back to the stripped down sentence later. Your brain will find the simplest and clearest way to reformulate.

i always teach SPACE sentence starters: simile, preposition, adverb, conjunction, -ed word to vary sentence openers. it makes the much more interesting to read!

This is honestly one of my favorite "puzzles" in line edits and craft. So much fun to come up with interesting ways to change up the beginning of a sentence. The gains to flow are amazing.

For the one of the stories which was in third person this was the problem but for a another I wrote which was in first person the problem was starting it with “I”

this reminds me of when I used to write poems, I'd have to change every sentence and build it up and again for it to fit well and rhythm at the end, its like a game

I dont have this problem, but I have a problem where I get stuck using one sentence structure without variation. I never notice it until im rereading, and then its like every other sentence 😭
