Definitely needs a purpose. Especially, if your a son who has had a great relationship over the years with your mom who was like your whole world. He needs to feel valued just like he did when he had her in his life. He is lost and depressed. Having something that brings back value will help him in the long run.

In 2014 I lost my entire family to cancer. My mom, grandmother and aunt to ovarian cancer and then 2 months later my grandpa died of a broken heart. The next day I filed for divorce. Every single person who was important to me. Completely wiped out. Except my son. I inherited so much money and I wasn’t mentally prepared or ready. And I blew it. It was like blood money to me. I traveled the world for 7yrs. Paid for my son’s college tuition etc. but I wish we would have known what was to come. They had a trust for me. But no one knew they’d all die so fast. So if my mom died 1st my grandparents wound guide me. If they went 1st my mom would help me navigate the path. No it’s been 11yrs and I regret it so much it’s crazy. The financial advisors tried to tell me. I wouldn’t listen. I’m talking over 2 million. I wish I could go back. And I’m an entrepreneur I build businesses. I just was so depressed and not myself.

I definitely would not be working !? As life is too short , I know !? My 40yr old wife died last month from a brain haemorrhage, and working isn’t on my radar , if I was left a few million from inheritance??

It’s good to work, but it shouldn’t be a way to cover up trauma or ones grief. It can have a detrimental effect on them in the long haul. My sister didn’t listen to my suggestion of seeking help, worked distract herself and has been in a downward spiral since losing a friend.
