the thing for me was my dog didn't fit any metric of any scale I ever heard for "when is it time". by this scale, he was a 49 up until the minute he died. he didn't fit any mold of common wisdom.

Some days she was a 10 and some days she was a 40-50. Unfortunately the days the numbers were higher made us hold on and the days she was a 10 made us feel so guilty for forcing her to stick around.

Our dog was having a lot of neurological issues suddenly and he fell and injured himself. As the vet said to us, he no longer had good days ahead of him at all. It was tough, but we needed to hear it.

my doggo had a very aggressive cancer and knew she wasn't going to be around much longer but didn't know it was time until she stopped eating. she was very food motivated and would do anything for food. that's when I knew it was her time😢
