His skin is not even the issue, is the bullying about his appearance that is, in the books he describe as "an overgrown bat" I know bats are black, but he's supposed to be white so he has a worn-out appearance, dark circles, unhealthy paleness and oily hair. Making Black Snape look ugly seems even more controversial.

I think it’s because the actor that is cast…looks way too nice to play Snape.He could easily play Lupin or even Sirius! But Snape is ment to be a misreble man and if you think Harry is a reliable narrator then Snape is supposed to be unattractive…
