Just because your baby is weighing two weeks ahead doesn’t mean their lungs are two weeks ahead. Even 37 weekers sometimes struggle so much to transition and need some support.

With my oldest they told me he was 10+ lbs and would need to be a C-section. I’m so glad I refused cause he was only 6lbs. It’s crazy how off measurements can be!

i totally agree and wouldn’t suggest trying for induction at 37wks without medical reasoning. my baby measured 7.5lbs at 36 weeks… he was born at 38+4 at barely 5lbs and i wasn’t induced.

As someone who was sn US tech before I became a SAHM, ultrasound is notoriously inaccurate for measuring fetal weight. It’s great for many many things, weight estimate is not one of them.

Induced with my daughter at 39 weeks. She was estimated to be 8+ lbs, she was 5 lbs 5 oz. Everythings a guessing game- let them come when they are ready or past 39 weeks

Yeah I don’t understand why people at like 37 weeks are trying to go into labor actively. Like guys. I’m 39 weeks and I would love to have him now- but at 37 weeks? Noooo. He needed to be in.

I got induced at 37w for medical reasons and I am high risk last pregnancy. I will be getting a induced again at 37w for this pregnancy for medical reasons again. I will be induced on Oct 4.

Your insurance probably wouldn’t cover an elective 37 week induction unless there is a clear cut medical reason

I had an induction at 37 week because of gestational hypertension. My baby had a lot of minor issues because of it in his first few months of life. Would NEVER electively want to do it that early!!!

I got induced at 37 weeks exactly with my first because he was measuring like 3 pounds and he came out 2 ounces shy of 6 pounds

I’m 32w 2 days… had a growth scan today since we have MCI… our little girl is measuring 5lb 3oz & 2 weeks ahead which is a true blessing! Head down & already low.. she’s gonna come when she wants 🤷🏻♀️

I needed to hear this honestly. I’m pregnant with di/di twins that are both measuring 2 weeks ahead and I was really upset when my OB wouldn’t schedule my c section at 37 weeks instead of 38

Personally they were actually pretty spot on. They were only off by an oz but yeah, it really just depends.
