Elena suffered more, why : when she was 16 she almost died in a car accident with her adoptive parents, watched her biological mother burn, her father died to save her, she had a 1000+old family tormenting her,had a doppelganger who was hell bent to destroy her life, had a 1000+old hybrid trying to kill her for her blood and was almost surcrifised in a ritual, watched her aunt get killed, lost Alaric the only thing close to a father she had, lost her best friend countless times, lost her brother, watched her boyfriend become a ripper over and over again. She died cause she told her bf to save her best friend and was forced to become a vampire and was shamed for crying and not adjusting, fell in love with Damon and was shamed for that too. Yet people say Katherine suffered more, you serious? Kath had centuries to deal but elena didn't, she just kept on loosing more and more loved ones 🥺
