@alexandertenio: It was my first time seeing farmers harvesting at my cousin’s palayan (rice field), and I was curious about how they do it. I watched them, and while watching, I noticed some people with umbrellas. In our province, they are called "mangahag" — they are the ones who gather leftover rice from someone else's basak (land). They pick up the grains that fall or fly toward them. It’s heartbreaking to see how these people work so hard just to gather a small amount of rice, yet many of us still take what we have for granted. We often forget to be grateful for the food on our table.😢 #votewisely2025election✍️
