The U.S. is one of only 7 countries in the world that offers no national paid maternity leave. 2. 1 in 4 American women return to work within two weeks of giving birth. 3. The average maternity leave in the U.S. is just 10 weeks—unpaid. When I had Madeleine, I had a C-section on a Thursday and was working remotely by Monday. I was still healing, still learning how to nurse, still wrapping my head around this new life—but I was working. And while I was incredibly lucky to have business partners who allowed me to work from home, I never had the option to simply rest. As a small business owner, I’ve made it a personal mission to create space for women—whether they’re growing families, growing businesses, or growing into new versions of themselves. Supporting women through motherhood shouldn’t feel like a burden. It should be a privilege. To every mama who’s had to power through, I see you.
