@donpapieats: 1. Prep as much as you can the night before; side dishes, seasoning meat, cutting fruit.. whatever you can prep do it! 2. What type of grill do you have, charcoal, gas, electric? They each operate differently. Charcoal or wood will require a lighting method (chimney stack, lighter fluid, or torch). Gas will require a propane tank. Electric will require an outlet and wood pellets. 3. Pay attention to and find your high heat zones. Just like an oven, a grill will have hot spots. 4. Open the lid to release heat. Close the lid to hold the heat. Opening the lid will increase oxygen flow more flames will flare up. 5. Be careful! Dripping fat will cause flames to flare ups. Flip the meat or move meat to a higher rack or move meat to different area. If there’s too much open flame contact the meat it will eventually burn. 6. Have the right materials. Extra long tongs for flipping meat, large aluminum foil pans for raw and cooked meat. 7. The most beginner friendly meats to grill are burgers, sausages, or shrimp. 8. Have fun! Once you learn the basics it’s really straightforward. #grillingtips #howtogrill
