When that controversy was going on, and especially when it resurfaced because of the movie, I felt so singled out because I loved Season 1's art style even if it wasn't entirely faithful to Fujimoto.

The animation didn’t fit CSM imo. For an often goofy and action packed series, I think the weightiness of the characters often dulled the expressiveness that makes those scenes work in the manga.

i feel like in the manga, the art is more gritty and harsh, while the anime art style feel's quite flowy like jjk neither of them is bad at all. I do feel the flowy art works well in animation

i think the reason most fans weren’t pleased was cause chainsaw man as a whole is simple, chaotic, and really colorful and i’m not hating on the anime but it took a while different approach to it 1/2
