Why do you refer to it as a Cold War clause as if it’s antiquated. That means the entire statute is a Cold War statute. Does that mean it’s antiquated and we shouldn’t have federal unions?

I'm the President of an AFGE Local. Right now, we're facing serious issues with management. They have recently stopped responding to the Union on representational matters altogether. Even when employees specifically request union representation, management is refusing to allow us into meetings, which is a clear violation of employees' rights. On top of that, they have also stopped all payroll deductions for union dues. We are addressing these actions through the appropriate legal and administrative channels, but it's a clear attempt to undermine the Union and silence employees' representation.

I have 90hrs annual leave but depleted sick leave (son had 5 surgeries in a year) and last week the VA marked me AWOL for calling in sick for myself and only had 4 hrs sick leave. 18yrs of service too

When did federal employees become the enemy? Many VA staff worked the front lines through Covid, putting their lives on hold and risking their health to care for those Veterans who were sick and in need. Just sad those of us who have dedicated our lives to support our Nations hero’s are now on the firing line… literally. Speaking as the daughter, wife, niece of Veterans and the aunt of an active duty Navy corpsman.
