Not sure how you had the chin-up assist set up, but a lot of machines are usually the higher you set the weight the easier it will make it

Do a lot of negative reps! So basically slowly bring yourself down in a controlled manner. That will help your strength!

I completed my road to a push up last year and the way I did it was by starting with my upper body elevated on a bench or bar of smith machine and decreasing the elevation as I got stronger!

Add a resistance band to your arms when you try your full pushups!! It forces correct form and allows relief on the way up!! When on your knees just make sure your arms don’t flare out elbows!!

I’m sure you know this, just adding to the unsolicited advice. Make sure to focus on your protein intake. It will be next to impossible to grow muscle with out it 🫶🏻 you’re doing great!

Maybe yoga?? I lift consistently but sculpt yoga (the damn chaturangas) gave me the quickest strength for push ups I’ve noticed
