My son was born completely deaf in both ears for life with no cure possible, they refused dca as “there is no difference between him and other child his age”. Are they serious?… I appealed 3 times.

I don’t get how a gp can fill it out when they know so little about my child with asd when I have a full report outlining all her needs

I got refused 3 times for my son Sam. Kept going and eventually got there but really didn’t think it would be that hard. We had a diagnosis privately and through AON and yet still declined.

best advice is to make sure u fill out the daily diary and family impact as much as possible I got it first go without a diagnosis it's quite emotional but you'll get it the more u put in xxx

so I can just use the word document with the headings on the form and I don't have to "fill in" the provided form?

best advice I was told about it was to not be afraid to be honest. we don't need to sugar coat it they need to hear the brutal truth. I got it first time round

system is snookered ...I've a son with autism and other needs and no help from primary care or CDNT and currently in my 2nd refusal..was told for 7 years it was a phase ...just been passed around 🤯💔
I added a 2 week sleep schedule, a daily diary, I compared my 2.5year old child to 2.5year child’s milestones on a document on a HSE website and a family impact statement.

I actually had to take breaks filling it in as the negativity just upset me. Normally I just got on with it. Detailing it out was awful
