I don’t disagree with this take but I think it’s fair to point out that dental assistanting is also a stepping stone for hygiene school and dental school. I’ve met very few career assistants.

Have been a dental assistant for 41 years and the last dentist I worked for would not let me advance and be a hygienist because he said I was a great assistant…..he would not give me a raise…he said because of bonus…he would make the front desk manager to check if my children’s daycare was closed due to snow and ice…I drove and endangered my children just because of a dentist who broke my spirit and made me think I was not good enough…even hired a person that he took her in and made 6 figures
