As a patient I appreciate the opportunity to view my test results in advance and have digested them and come prepared with a list of questions regarding the results.

I like it cause you don't always get all of the results from the doctor

I love seeing the results in the portal. That being said I have medical background and do not freak out. I also hate waiting three weeks and then having to schedule an appt to go over something minor

Most patients are worried and anxious to see their results. I appreciate being able to look myself because the doctors offices show absolutely no urgency in calling with your results.

THANK YOU. It shouldn’t be in their chart until the provider has reviewed it c the pt.

Edit: turns out we underestimate patients’ ability to understand if they can just get the facts in a timely manner w/o gate keeping & power trips

it kind of feels like healthcare professionals don't want us regular folks to have access so they can downplay our issues more successfully. I get that patients can be annoying, but I'm tired of 1/2

chronically ill people like me love it because I know what my results look like when I'm sick and waiting for the dr to come back makes me anxious 😭

No way! Doctors almost always says my labs were great when 2 or more things got flagged. I’d rather be ready to ask about it because I’m going to worry either way!

I'm glad I get my results before the doctor that way I can read them and make sure they aren't trying to gaslight me.

Well after a specialist didn’t give my husband important results and we only found out after requesting his paper records… we really appreciate getting to look ourselves. I don’t trust anyone anymore.

If a patient has a tendency to spiral over results, or are just anxious in general, maybe they just shouldn’t use patient portals. 🤷🏻♀️Doctor/nurse will call with results if they’re bad regardless

I found out I had cancer on a Friday afternoon because of My Chart and had to wait for my doctor to call me Monday morning. Worst weekend of my life!

i love it, i want to be informed enough to ask questions when I get in there, not be behind the 8 ball because I'm just getting the info and now I have to make another appt to find out more

It’s the patient’s data though. We have the right to get it when it comes in. The spiraling is on the patient to work through.

Chronic illness girlie and it's GREAT seeing it in the portal because when the Dr comes back I can have the results history pulled up for anything abnormal. I know what MY norms are outside of just the results that day, so I can actually help my doctor with more background.
Also, no more "your labs are normal" when they're clearly off. I have way more control over my health now.
