Also, also, also, Fulbright scholarships are for studying g INTERNATIONALLY. So they are going to send one parent off to another country while the other stays behind and raises the kids ALONE?

Instead of "encouraging" women to give birth, they should be supporting and enabling the women who do want children to be able to afford them without negatively impacting their future!

Or it won't be paid out at all because of some administrative nonsense.

It’s been a while, but wouldn’t that be people in their early 20’s applying for the Fullbright scholarship? Lots of “kids” that young aren’t married with kids, why are they pushing that? 😬

Also not that it's impossible (I did it) but completing college with kids is 1000X harder. We should be incentivizing people to graduate before starting a family, of anything.

I'm struggling to imagine how anyone could manage college and child-rearing at the same time. Wouldn't it make more sense to wait to have kids until after?

No bet. But I also think they're banking on people having large families not being interested in higher education.

Saw a video on my FYP, from a man that said he and his wife were looking for child care. Cost for daycare would be almost $5000/ mo for their new baby and 3 yr old. What that scholarship gonna do?

tell ya what- I'll consider maybe having a child someday if the US provides healthcare, chapter childcare, all lunches in schools, and leaves reproductive medicine to medical professionals

$5k to have a baby won't cover the delivery 🤣

what the heck is $5k going to do anyways, just having a baby will end up being $30k in hospital bills alone 🤦♂️

They’ll do anything but do the real work to undo the economic and cultural values of this nation that’s causing this “problem.”

Political men will do anything but ask a woman why they aren’t having kids… or give paid leave…. Or universal healthcare… I am 51 and my mom had 5 kids & never paid a hospital bill…

Who is paying for childcare? Is it a way to force women to stay at home? It’s very 1950’s
