I worked for Marriott and it happens all the time. I don't allow mobile check in. you need to physically check in then I'll give you a mobile key.

That’s why my Marriot location if you have not stayed within our location within a year from the last stay we send a “stop at desk” message and we confirm ID before giving mobile key 🫠

I had this happen to me at a Marriott. They made a weekend reservation and spent big time at Wing Stop, I have no idea who the person was and I had my card. 😩😩

The Marriott property I work at requires you to show ID and card if it's your first time at our property. Than we issue a mobile key. Yes we get cursed out over the phone but we stick to policy.

Marriott needs to pay her back! This is a problem with their ridiculous system. Checking in without having to show at least ID is ridiculous.
