Had 3 student loans 🤷♀️. I paid mine off during Covid when tax was set to zero, I should not have to pay for my neighbors loans too 🤷♀️

What they "didn't tell you" was that it was your responsibility to ensure the education you obtain would be worth the debt you incurred. Who, but a fool, would borrow $200,000 to obtain an education that didn't guarantee them the ability of repay?

I agree with you when you borrow for a house or car you know exactly what you owe but with student loans it just keeps growing and growing.

Endowment- money surplus colleges have from donations from alumni etc. The current national college endowment is 887 BILLION. The issue isn’t interest. It’s colleges price gouging. They have SO much money. Everyone is attacking govt but we really should be pushing debt relief to colleges that charged it in first place

The way the interest accrues make it impossible to payoff making minimum payment or just over it. You have to make huge lump payments consistently. Liked sell stuff you have, do without, extreme stuff

my daughter had 20k in loans and paid them off in 4 years. Did you stop paying during the repayment pause? If you paid during the pause you balance would have gone down.

first person I've heard say the real reason, government involvement. if you are guaranteed money, the college will raise tuition. If anyone can get that loans for houses, banks are going to lend

Community College for the first 2 years, live at home & work at least part time to save for the 2nd 2 years. Lots of us got our degrees while working full time and adult bills & paid out debt

College is a SCAM. Because 80% of jobs really don’t need you to go to college for what they actually pay you to do. It can all be taught during training. It’s just one way for them to capitalize.
