Why would there be a transmission on an electric vehicle? They use a control module to regulate rpm’s and reverse. No gears needed, full torque starts as soon as the motor is engaged.

Never trust Toyota, quality has gone downhill even their Lexus has design issues . They're only enticing price gouging by lowering production units, allowing dealers to over charge. Just brand play.

In fairness though a reduction box failure is extremely rare, and most EVs have a factory warranty that would cover it if it did
