I dont think it is celebrity worship to do this. It isnt always because they are your favorite celeb, it is more so the person's connection to the character or story itself that makes them emotional

I cried when I met Sir Patrick Stewart. he was an idol from Star Trek and a comfort. my husband thought it was sweet, but I was so embarrassed. I didn't plan on sobbing in front of him.
