Presided over a Gala hosted by the Africa Education and Development Trust (AEDT) celebrating the disbursement of over KES 1 billion in interest-free study loans, which has enabled more than 3,000 Kenyan students to access and complete higher education. The event took place at a Nairobi hotel. AEDT's innovative financing model represents a shift from traditional scholarships and bursaries, providing interest-free loans that have supported 3,430 students across various academic levels: 118 PhD candidates, 683 Masters students, 53 university staff, 928 Bachelor's students, 1,460 UU-SSP participants, and 188 Diploma students. In my remarks, I commended AEDT for its bold and sustainable approach and called on stakeholders to scale such transformative models that are shaping Kenya's future by expanding access to education. I acknowledged the collective effort in redefining higher education financing and equity. The event featured powerful testimonials underscoring the importance of investing in education and skills development as drivers of Africa's socio-economic transformation. I also took the opportunity to advocate for the Social Health Authority (SHA), a critical reform to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all Kenyans, regardless of age or financial standing. Held under the theme
