@thecatterycc: Today, a man pulled into our parking lot, backed in, opened the back of his SUV, and a mom cat ran out. He pulled a bin out of his car, stuck it under the stairs with the lid off, and drove away. He dumped a litter of kittens on the side of our building — the side we rarely use — and left. Luckily, one of our employees saw him and investigated. If they hadn’t, those kittens could have died there. Now, because of this man’s selfishness, we are forced to introduce unknown kittens into our quarantine building — kittens we have no medical history on, no vaccine history, no idea if they’re sick — putting every cat in our quarantine area at risk. Every single one. And because he let the mom cat loose, these kittens are now also at risk of illness, injury, or worse. Our rights were taken away today. The rights of every responsible person waiting patiently for an intake appointment were taken away — because this man decided he was more important. More important than our intake process. More important than the lives of our shelter cats. More important than the safety of our staff. This has to stop. And before anyone tries to say, “at least he didn’t…” — JUST DON’T. Don’t condone this. Don’t excuse this. Don’t normalize this. This kind of behavior puts lives at risk — full stop.
